Alejandro Ovalle

I am a mathematician interested in enumerative algebraic geometry, moduli problems, derived categories, and the interplay between these areas.

Currently, I am writing my master's thesis on the enumerative geometry of K3 surfaces at the University of Bonn under the supervision of Prof. Richard Thomas and Prof. Daniel Huybrechts. Recently, I have been exploring BPS invariants on K3s and their relation to stable pair invariants.

In November 2025, I will begin a research internship at the Max Planck Institute (MiP) to explore the interplay between enumerative algebraic geometry and tropical geometry.
